faculaty business and economics; recommend participation to the students in the 1st semester

Duration of the course:
one semester, 6 SWS

Learning outcomes:
On completion of this students should be able to:

  • analyse the strategic choices companies face in the process of internatinalising and their management implications;
  • develop a cross cultural approach to management that recognises and uses diversity as a competitive asset;
  • apply the key concepts, theories and ideas of international management to the functional challenges that managers face in the global business arena;
  • develop cross-cultural skills to facilitate communication, negotiation and management in a global context; and
  • develop a range of strategic responses towards organisational structures, recruitment policies and training programmes for international managers.

Grading:
Group Case Study and Presentation (20%)
Final written exam (80%)

The lecture "Business in Asia" hosted by Mr. Prof. Dr. Gary Chittick takes place conventionally in the first semester of the master program.
